The DNG Needle Flame Test Apparatus (Model DNG-NFTA-01) is engineered to perform the IEC 60695-11-5 needle-flame test, simulating the effect of small internal flames that may occur in malfunctioning electrical or electronic equipment.
This compact, high-precision unit enables fire-hazard assessment of insulating materials, plastics, and electrical components by applying a 12 mm high controlled flame for a specified time under standardized conditions.
Manufactured by DNG Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Faridabad, a trusted fire-testing-equipment manufacturer in India, the system ensures compliance with IEC 60695-11-5 and IEC 60695-2-2, delivering accurate, repeatable, and safe flammability testing for R&D labs, certification centers, and production quality control.
The needle-flame test evaluates how products react to small-flame ignition sources such as short circuits or component failures.
A stainless-steel burner produces a 12 mm flame using high-purity butane or propane gas (≥ 95%). The flame contacts the specimen surface for a programmable duration, after which post-flame and after-glow times are recorded automatically.
If molten or flaming droplets occur, the burner can be tilted up to 45° to avoid blockage, maintaining an 8 mm ± 1 mm gap between the flame and specimen.
