Single Burning Item ( SBI)

The Single Burning Item (SBI) is a method to determine the reaction to fire of building products (excluding floorings) by exposure to a single burning item (propane fueled sand burner). A specimen is placed in the corner of the trolley and thetrolley is positioned underneath the exhaust system. The
source (30.7kw), the combustion gases are collected by the exhaust hood and duct, and the calori release (THR600), smoke production (TSP600s), FIGRA 0.2MJ, and SMOGRA results. In the meantime, the specimen’s reaction to fire behavior is visible from the side observation window.
