Single Burning Item ( SBI)

The Single Burning Item (SBI) apparatus evaluates reaction-to-fire performance of building products, excluding floorings, under EN 13823. Specimens are mounted in a corner configuration and exposed to a propane-fuelled sand-box burner. Combustion gases are collected for heat-release and smoke-production measurements. Verify exact reported parameters against the current EN 13823 edition, smoke production (TSP600s), FIGRA 0.2MJ, and SMOGRA results. In the meantime, the specimen’s reaction to fire behavior is visible from the side observation window.
