Furniture Calorimeter
ISO/ BS EN 16989

Description
The Calorimetre for complete seats used in railways provides a means of determining the burning behavior of a rail vehicle seat design using a set of complete seats prepared and tested according to the procedures. It also sets out a standardized procedure to assess a seat’s potential for vandalization. The test seats are subjected to a 15kw propane-flued ignition source under an exhaust hood with a well-ventilated condition. The measurement to be made include the heat release rate (HRR), maximum average heat release (MARHE), total smoke production (TSP), and flame height.
Features :
Stainless steel made test chamber has an inner dimension of 1000mm by 2000mm by 4000mm. The chamber wall was inserted with 65mm of mineral wool for thermal insulation.
The bottom of the chamber is higher than the ground, there is an 800mm by 400mm air inlet at the bottom of the chamber at 150mm from the front wall, with a grilling placed above.
A 300mm by 1000mm exhausting opening at the top of the chamber for removal of gases during the test.
There is a high-temperature resistant observation window on the front door and the side of the test chamber for watching during the test.
Equips with OMEGA K type insulated thermocouples, for measuring the test chamber temperature.
Chamber air supply system, consists of a blower, inverter, stainless steel U-shape tube, anemometer.
Stainless steel made tubular steel ladder, width in 500mm and 800mm.
AGF ribbon-type propane gas burner, with venturi mixer.
Two sets of propane mass flow controller and air mass flow controller, providing a standard burning flame, accuracy less than ±1%.
Advantages :
Robust and durable test chamber.
Standard recommended AGF burners.
Precise gas supply system.
